It is Spring once again here in Chicago which means there is a lot of climate teasing… a day of gorgeous, warm sunshine followed by wind, winter coats and rogue snow flakes. Shoots of wildflowers sprout up from the ground as cold rains remind us that nature has a way of operating that we will never fully understand. Just ask the folks in Boston after the winter they just survived.
It tends to be this time of year when many people sit on the couch and ponder the really deep question, “When will this damned winter end?” Ironic, as spring has already officially started. Sometimes it takes more than name alone to truly create change…
As our immediate environment enters another cycle of rebirth through a process of perseverance, tenacity and grace, it is a great reminder to all of us that no matter how deep, frozen and/or barren a winter our personal process may plunge, it is always possible to thaw, rejuvenate and replenish the work of transformation.
The answer to the question of spring is surely “soon” so we get right back to the really important business of negotiating the places that have become calcified and determine the most effective approach to liberating ourselves from old, stuck patterns.
The work I do is incredibly meaningful to me. It fills me with gratitude to have the opportunity to support people who are open enough to know that they want their lives to be different. And still…without a good system, a pathway, we can easily find ourselves dwelling on rhetorical questions and missing the depth of the moment.
